The home was spotless, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals at home, no one ever ran out of hot water, and we especially liked the heaters in the bathrooms. The pool and deck area are gorgeous, and so tranquil just to sit out there and enjoy some time outside (unfortunately it was a little chilly during our stay, so we opted not to use the pool, but we so wanted to!). There was plenty of room, inside and out, to spend lots of time together, but also plenty of opportunity to have our own space and downtime apart from the rest of the group. We loved the location of this home too, because we had easy access to New Orleans/French Quarter, Airport, but also Slidell, the local swamps/lakes/bayous, as well as Mississippi and its beautiful white sandy beaches.
As far as other reviews had mentioned: we had zero issues with any neighbors (or signs), and the driveway was no issue for a full-size SUV nor a sedan.
I would highly recommend this home away from home, and would love to visit again someday!

The house is beautiful, the location is lovely in a nice residential area. It has a nice kitchen and large space for entertaining and relaxing both indoor and outdoor with great natural light and views.

4pm check in ... with no opportunity to check in earlier or drop off our bags. We tried to speak to her well in advance about this to no avail. The cleaning people were still there past 4pm and were standing outside smoking while they waited for a load of wash to be done despite it being after our check in time. Checkout is at 11am...

Lisa did not respond, not to emails, not to airbnb messages, not to phone calls, not to texts. She was absolutely impossible to reach. The one time she did respond was solely Bc she was sending additional information regarding the key code to get in and other rules she had. She didn’t check in during the stay she didn’t respond even after arrival.

Safe neighborhood BUT it is not the 20/25 minutes she says in her description. It is a 35 minute drive from the city without fail, even driving fast.

The fact that the host left a hefty list of things you can’t do “no red punch allowed, neighbors will call cops, do not make noise outside on the deck at night, no music after 9pm and etc” and could not be reached at any point before or during the stay was absolutely unacceptable. I love staying with airbnb for a variety of reasons but this was not alright.

Lastly even though we only used two of the four bedrooms the mattress was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows to accommodate even the pickiest of sleepers!   My wife and I recently stayed in one of Lisa’s properties. This was our first time renting with Airbnb. In light of the pandemic, we thought this was... read more a cleaner, safer option for us. The home was very well appointed and extremely clean. There are two bedrooms downstairs and three upstairs. Since it was just the two of us, we opted to stay downstairs. We had three major issues with our stay. Two hours prior to our arrival (one hour after our check-in time) we were contacted by Lisa. She wanted to let me know that the downstairs portion of the home was found to be warmer than normal and she was having an air conditioning company come out to assess the unit. When we arrived at 6 pm, the air conditioner repairman was at home. The house was extremely warm. After conversing with the repairman, we were made aware that the units in the home were old. He stated that “we should not have an issue, but to just contact him if it goes out again.” This concerned us to the point that we contacted Lisa to find out if a plan B existed. The best she could offer us is to maybe put us in another home that was still needing to be cleaned. Thankfully, the unit held up during our three-day stay. The next issue we had with the home was the following day. We were visiting for a funeral. The next day we were contacted by Lisa. She wanted to let us know that the owner wanted to pick up his trailer that was residing in the driveway. We told Lisa we would be gone after 5 pm due to the funeral. At 3:30 pm the doorbell rang. Two workers were at the door wanting us to move our vehicle so they could get the trailer. When I explained to them that we were getting ready for a funeral and would be leaving soon, they acted very put out when we asked them to give us a few minutes to finish getting dressed. About 15 minutes later another knock on the door. The gentleman said he was in a hurry and was trying to rush us out of the way. We left the home at 4:30 to attend the funeral. Lastly, at night we had a scare. When we set up in the room downstairs, we noticed that the air vent was closed. Well with the heat in the house, we opened up the vent. Apparently, the air vents make a high-pitched noise. We literally thought there was a wild animal in the house. Sounded like a possum in distress.
I want to address some of the other concerns noted by other reviewers. The home does feature a very steep driveway. We were in a Subaru Outback and did not have any issues but if you aren’t used to driving on steep areas it could be an issue. Also, the neighbors are NOT a fan of (Hidden by Airbnb) /Airbnb renters and they have made this known with two big signs located in the backyard of the property. When you set on the deck at night, there is a sign that says “ (Hidden by Airbnb) Renters Not Welcome”. Also, don’t plan on grilling. The grill was small and not clean.
You would think for $400 dollars a night, we would not have to worry about the air conditioner and working around the owner’s schedule. Other than that, the house was very quiet, clean and we had a good stay.
I would rent again with Lisa, but I would not rent that house again.

We enjoyed the back deck and dock. It was very peaceful. Highlight of the house.
We didn’t use the pool.
The only bathroom with counter space is in the master & the showerhead in the other downstairs bathroom faces the shower door, so our parents had issues with turning on the shower without getting sprayed.
Other than that minor issue, we had zero problems and enjoyed the house.
We did believe it to be a tad overpriced.
