Great home to rent for relaxation.

Our stay was okay, but there were several issues that made it less enjoyable. When we arrived, there was a strong smell similar to baby vomit, and we had to... read more go out and buy air freshener. The pull-out couch was very messy, full of crumbs, and we had to vacuum it ourselves before using it. For the price we paid, the furniture could have been more updated and better maintained. On our last day, a very large roach ran from the upstairs bedroom to the bathroom and then back under the bed, which made us uncomfortable sleeping. We appreciated the recommendations left around the house for restaurants and activities, but pool maintenance happened midday during our stay and should have been completed before we arrived. Overall, the location and community were great and made the trip better, but considering the cleanliness, upkeep, and overall condition of the home, the price we paid feels debatable and not fully worth it.

Our experience was a bad one, partly because of the condition of the property, but mostly because of the disrespectful treatment we received from Lisa. In total, we experienced a... read more number of malfunctions that can happen and are not the host's fault, the problem was Lisa's response to the problems we encountered. At first there were several things missing and there was a malfunction with the air conditioner, the initial response was that we don't know how to search properly, after that there really isn't a problem, and even after she sent professionals (who didn't solve the problem) she still continued to say there were no problems. Only after three days and a lot of anger on our part did she produce solutions to the problems. It's a shame, the house is located in a very beautiful place, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there.

May 10, 2022 - My wife and I recently stayed in one of Lisa’s properties. This was our first time renting with Airbnb. In light of the pandemic, we thought this was... read more a cleaner, safer option for us. The home was very well appointed and extremely clean. There are two bedrooms downstairs and three upstairs. Since it was just the two of us, we opted to stay downstairs. We had three major issues with our stay. Two hours prior to our arrival (one hour after our check-in time) we were contacted by Lisa. She wanted to let me know that the downstairs portion of the home was found to be warmer than normal and she was having an air conditioning company come out to assess the unit. When we arrived at 6 pm, the air conditioner repairman was at home. The house was extremely warm. After conversing with the repairman, we were made aware that the units in the home were old. He stated that “we should not have an issue, but to just contact him if it goes out again.” This concerned us to the point that we contacted Lisa to find out if a plan B existed. The best she could offer us is to maybe put us in another home that was still needing to be cleaned. Thankfully, the unit held up during our three-day stay. The next issue we had with the home was the following day. We were visiting for a funeral. The next day we were contacted by Lisa. She wanted to let us know that the owner wanted to pick up his trailer that was residing in the driveway. We told Lisa we would be gone after 5 pm due to the funeral. At 3:30 pm the doorbell rang. Two workers were at the door wanting us to move our vehicle so they could get the trailer. When I explained to them that we were getting ready for a funeral and would be leaving soon, they acted very put out when we asked them to give us a few minutes to finish getting dressed. About 15 minutes later another knock on the door. The gentleman said he was in a hurry and was trying to rush us out of the way. We left the home at 4:30 to attend the funeral. Lastly, at night we had a scare. When we set up in the room downstairs, we noticed that the air vent was closed. Well with the heat in the house, we opened up the vent. Apparently, the air vents make a high-pitched noise. We literally thought there was a wild animal in the house. Sounded like a possum in distress.
I want to address some of the other concerns noted by other reviewers. The home does feature a very steep driveway. We were in a Subaru Outback and did not have any issues but if you aren’t used to driving on steep areas it could be an issue. Also, the neighbors are NOT a fan of (Hidden by Airbnb) /Airbnb renters and they have made this known with two big signs located in the backyard of the property. When you set on the deck at night, there is a sign that says “ (Hidden by Airbnb) Renters Not Welcome”. Also, don’t plan on grilling. The grill was small and not clean.
You would think for $400 dollars a night, we would not have to worry about the air conditioner and working around the owner’s schedule. Other than that, the house was very quiet, clean and we had a good stay.
I would rent again with Lisa, but I would not rent that house again.

The cleaning crew left all of there garbage and took up the only garbage bin, so... read more we had no place to put our garbage for the entire week.
The house is beautiful, the location is lovely in a nice residential area. It has a nice kitchen and large space for entertaining and relaxing both indoor and outdoor with great natural light and views.
4pm check in ... with no opportunity to check in earlier or drop off our bags. We tried to speak to her well in advance about this to no avail. The cleaning people were still there past 4pm and were standing outside smoking while they waited for a load of wash to be done despite it being after our check in time. Checkout is at 11am...
Lisa did not respond, not to emails, not to airbnb messages, not to phone calls, not to texts. She was absolutely impossible to reach. The one time she did respond was solely Bc she was sending additional information regarding the key code to get in and other rules she had. She didn’t check in during the stay she didn’t respond even after arrival.
Safe neighborhood BUT it is not the 20/25 minutes she says in her description. It is a 35 minute drive from the city without fail, even driving fast.
The fact that the host left a hefty list of things you can’t do “no red punch allowed, neighbors will call cops, do not make noise outside on the deck at night, no music after 9pm and etc” and could not be reached at any point before or during the stay was absolutely unacceptable. I love staying with airbnb for a variety of reasons but this was not alright.

There’s a Waffle House maybe 5 minutes away, bourbon street is a good 30-40min. I literally sat on the balcony and watched the birds catch fish. I would absolutely recommend 👍🏽
